I’ve been intrigued with computers since I was a elementary school child. My first computer was a TRS-80 Color Computer 2. I spent many nights glued to my television programming on that little machine.
All through my school I played with computers. By the time I graduated, I knew I wanted a career in a computer field, but I wasn’t sure exactly what. I enrolled at the local community college with hopes to transfer to Georgia Tech or UGA. Life had other plans.
I enlisted in the United States Navy and became a Nuclear Machinist Mate (not, I didn’t work with nuclear weapons). I spent 12 years operating and repairing the Navy’s nuclear reactors and their support equipment. It was an experience like no other.
After my wife gave birth to our third child, we decided it was time for a change. I got out of the military and began working for Fleet Support Group, LLC, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries.
I’m currently enrolled at Old Dominion University, studying for a bachelor’s in Cybersecurity. A lot of my posts will be pertaining to my classwork, but I’ll also cover other subjects of interest to me.
